• Conducted planning, scheduling, and management of 13 concurrent projects in the Southeast region of Algeria. Projects included manufacturing and construction of pipelines, refinery construction, building oil storage tanks and other infrastructure construction.

• Introduced the Oracle Primavera P6 platform to some new projects, allowing managers better insight into their activities. 

• Managed the daily manufacturing activities of the 300-member workforce manufacturing pipelines in the welding shop and offered strategic solutions to the shop manager to maximize the weekly production’s progress.

• Assisted the Engineering Director in coordinating the activities of the various Engineering and Procurement Departments and ensured all work was performed according to the Quality Management System of the company using the appropriate procedures based on ISO-9001.

• Conducted the processes and work procedures updates, creating a more fluid process to assist managers to solve conflicts between the different departments that was time consuming and very costly for the company.

• Created a unique and standard communication channel with clients, which eliminated the random information exchange. This effort reduced the time spent to understand the client’s goals in order to define the scope of work. 

• Standardized the cost estimation, planning, and scheduling tools to unify the documentation and work procedures for all departments. This optimized the collaboration, expenditures, and time savings.

• Managed the Project Coordinators and Project Managers, resolving conflicts that arose such as competing priorities and worker interactions.

• Launched a procurement cost reference database program, built MS Access database to input cost estimates and purchase history from vendors. These changes increased the efficiency of Estimation Engineers when determining their approximate cost estimations and helped Procurement Engineers to negotiate with vendors.

• Implemented a blueprint database program, overseeing the scanning of 40 years of blueprints and datasheets from past projects completed by the company in Algerian and other African countries. This preserved the documentation and provided an online location for engineers and technicians to access the information quickly at any time.

• Managed multiple project teams that built pipelines, oil storage tanks, firefighting systems, prisons, and green farms in the desert. One project increased the storage capacity and modernized the oil & gas storage center of Khroub CONSTANTINE-Algeria. (250,000 m3) 

• Revised the cost estimation spreadsheets, which made them flexible and easy to update according to the client’s requests, decreasing the negotiation period and the clients’ frustration from the old complex process.

• Introduced MS Project to establish the project planning and schedules, making the updates safer and easier for all projects. 

• Created an instant offer-counteroffer process to assist with negotiating contracts with clients. The flexible Cost Estimation, Planning and Scheduling tools allowed instant simulations while negotiating instead of taking notes and sending updated offers to the clients few days later. 

• Visited construction sites bi-weekly to observe the work and identify any potential issues, and researched and provided solutions to reported problems, thus reducing costly corrective actions that multiplied due to the lack of site visits.

• Designed CAD plans for projects within the community such as public walkways and water towers. Also offered solutions including solar panels, solar water heaters and septic, especially for construction located in isolated regions in the Algerian Sahara far from the electrical and water networks.

• Studied and applied government requirements and ensured each project was designed according to code and standards, increasing the competitivity of the company and contributing to a significant increase in contracts signed.

• Supervised job sites, managed crews, and ensured projects were executed according to plan, preventing the need for costly corrective actions. 

• Performed preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment keeping the maintenance costs to a minimum.
